Read moreWe as our customer's partner, are driven and engaged based on the visions we are involved in. In several cases, we have been invited in as a strategic sparring partner in the early stages of a project's genesis.
So it was with the Danish flooring manufacturer Dinesen, who had a vision to establish a production of oak floors.
The prerequisite for developing the correct project was to establish a solid basis for decision-making.
To do this, we provided a deep analysis of Dinesen's turnover figures, revealing the primary production the solution needed to handle.
In a process where we worked with vision and strategically, a fact-based basis was essential that assumptions and visions can be held against in order to verify theses and scenarios.
The factory's processing of the raw material was centered around data collection on the individual floor plank.
It is thus possible to trace a finished floor plank through production, back to the subcontractor, and directly into the forest the tree is felled – it is possible to tell the story of the floor from end to end.
This is only possible because each plank is identified with a unique RFID label containing all information about the plank: dimensions, quality, color, production time, subcontractor, etc.
The experience of the project has been many, but the success is largely driven by a proactive and committed team involvement across the customer, Nicholaisen and the suppliers.
