Data gives ABC-Reoler confidence in efficiency and investments

Production must be able to keep up with increased sales pressure. A comprehensive analysis project and five-year investment plan aimed at optimising production make it possible to think big.

In the spring of 2021, Canett Furniture took over ABC-Reoler in Aulum, and in connection with this, is about to relaunch the shelving company's range, which includes the iconic ABC Classic shelving and the Quadrant shelving system.

That's why Canett Furniture entered into a partnership with us, with the aim of lifting and scaling production in Aulum. The aim of the cooperation is to enable us to continue delivering high quality when sales pressure is expected to increase significantly in the near future.

"We see enormous potential in ABC-Reolers' classic shelving systems, which has been untapped in recent years. Therefore, we are facing a strong growth plan, where we will triple the turnover in the coming years, while within the next 5-6 years we expect to round DKK 100 million in turnover", says CEO of Canett Furniture, Claus S. Nørgaard, and adds:

"As part of our growth plans, it is crucial that we have an accurate picture of the condition of the machines that make up the production in Aulum, and for this reason we allied ourselves with Nicholaisen. When we relaunch ABC-Reoler, we only get one chance to make a good "first impression". That's why it's important that we first optimise production and make the necessary investments in new technology so that production can also keep up when we increase sales pressure - otherwise we would risk drowning in our own success when the orders come in."

We have delivered a so-called growth report, which includes an analysis of the entire current production efficiency and capacity, and a five-year investment plan for optimisation and investments in production to cope with the expected growth.

- We often see that when Danish manufacturing companies want to grow, they simply turn up the sales volume - and that's a problem. Sales and production are undeniably linked, and if you don't take production capacity into account, you end up not being able to deliver. When ABC-Reoler, in contrast to this trend, has a growth report drawn up that zooms in on the condition of the production machines, they run the risk of not being in that situation, explains Bo Brun Holm.

ABC-Reoler has already invested approximately DKK 10 million in three new production machines, which we have delivered to the factory in Aulum, while the company has also recently invested in a surface treatment plant.

Gaining insight and data about their entire factory, rather than focusing on individual processes, is of enormous value to manufacturing companies. In this respect, we can advantageously collaborate with our sister company OptiPeople, which can collect production data from machines and thus measure all processes, thereby exploiting synergies.
