Outrup Windows & Doors has just commissioned a brand new, purpose-built CNC machining centre at its factory in Nykøbing Mors. The multi-million investment in the new plant marks the start of Outrup's future, which includes an ambitious plan for how the window and door manufacturer will invest heavily in new technology in the coming years.

- The CNC machine is a very significant upgrade to our production, where we now benefit from the sharpest and latest technology on the market. We will be able to change our flow and increase our capacity, as the production of windows and doors can now take place on separate machines. This strengthens our competitive edge in the market and opens up opportunities for new and even better products for our customers," explains Henrik Gadgaard, Production Manager at Outrup.

Constructive cooperation

The plant is the result of a constructive cooperation with Nicholaisen and the machine supplier Working Process from Italy, which started with market research in 2020 and a proper agreement with Nicholaisen in spring 2021.

- The project has been run smoothly and to the letter throughout, and all parties from external suppliers to internal colleagues have delivered and completed their work on time. Of course, we are very pleased with this - especially at a time when supply chains, among other things, have been severely challenged," says Henrik Gadgaard.

He is complemented by Peter Haahr Larsen, who as sales manager for window customers at Nicholaisen and together with the other Nicholaisen project team has been in charge of the Outrup project:

- It's been a great partnership, from the initial meetings to specification development and factory testing, FAT approval and subsequent SAT with installation, commissioning, training and handover. With such an extensive technological upgrade, Outrup is undoubtedly even better equipped to attract younger staff in particular, who often see an advantage in working with the latest equipment on the market, he explains.

The CNC system was installed at Outrup at the beginning of the summer, and subsequently the employees have been continuously trained in the use of the system. It is planned that the plant will be fully operational by the end of August.
